In July 2018, the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) issued a discussion paper on resolution funding and national Insurance Guarantee Schemes (IGSs) across the EU. In this briefing note, we discuss the proposed harmonised approach to national IGSs where the landscape is currently highly fragmented.
