Maarten Ruissaard
Maarten Ruissaard is a consulting actuary in the Amsterdam office of Milliman. He joined the firm in 2019. He performs consultancy assignments on life insurance, non-life insurance, and market risk for insurers in the Benelux.
Experience
Maarten has nine years of experience specializing all around the balance sheet of an insurance company. He has broad experience in the development of Solvency II models (both Standard Formula and Partial Internal Models), reports, and documentation for market risk, insurance risk, and valuation. He also has substantial knowledge of other reporting standards, such as IFRS and Dutch GAAP, and has strong project management capabilities.
His previous assignments at Milliman include the development of economic capital models for both market and underwriting risks, assumption setting for life insurance, and the development of LAC DT models. He also advises insurers on hedging and improving their Solvency II positions.
Maarten is also the Accounting and Regulatory Change lead for Milliman Benelux.
Prior to joining Milliman, Maarten worked at EY for over four years.
