Nia Powis is an Actuarial Manager in Milliman’s Dublin office. Nia joined the Dublin practice in 2020.
Experience
- Nia’s experience is primarily in life insurance, working with both domestic and cross-border life insurance markets.
- She has worked on a variety of portfolios of business including unit-linked business and non-linked business.
- Her expertise includes valuation and financial reporting of a variety of reporting bases and has developed in depth knowledge Solvency II regulations and international solvency regulations. Nia has supported clients in training staff on Solvency II requirements across the three pillars.
- As part of an actuarial outsourcing team, she has been involved in a variety of projects including data validation, model improvements & efficiencies, developing & maintaining actuarial modelling systems and business planning activities.
- Nia has extensive actuarial modelling experience. She has been involved in the development, ongoing maintenance, and validation of actuarial models in MS Excel, MS Access and Milliman Mind.
- Since qualification, Nia has been involved in a number of risk management projects including independent review work. Nia has experience supporting on risk projects including Risk Register development, Recovery Plan review and Climate Risk assessments.
